SW locations star in second feature

Cameras started rolling for the Margaret River region’s second feature film last week, as shooting got underway for Kill Me Three Times.

Executive producer Tania Chambers said a crew of 107 – including international actors Simon Pegg and Alice Braga as well as Australian stars Bryan Brown, Sullivan Stapleton, Luke Hemsworth and Callan Mulvey – arrived in the South West last weekend and started shooting scenes for the movie last Tuesday.

Film director Kriv Stenders revealed on Instagram this week the crew had already shot scenes in Bunker Bay on Monday and Contos Beach last Tuesday.

Ms Chambers said the crew was taken aback by the beauty of the region.

“We’ve got some stunning locations on the coast and inland,” Ms Chambers said.

“The region is so diverse and there are so many opportunities for different types of sets and locations.”

“It’s great for the film and gives it a stunning, international allure.”

The executive producer said two units were filming at once in the region – the first headed up by director Kriv Stenders and second led by WA director Grant Stutore.

Margaret River local Mark Boskell was helping Mr Stutore as his first assistant director, she said.

Ms Chambers said she expected filming to continue in the Capes for at least two more weeks.

She said the region was also in line to host one of the film’s Australian premieres.

“The film will be released at the Melbourne Film Festival in July next year and … we might be able to include it in CinefestOz too,” Ms Chambers said.

“We are all working hard to get the people from the region to see it.”

Ms Chambers said the film had already been sold to “eight territories” internationally and their international sales agent, Cargo Entertainment, was working towards selling the film into other major movie markets across the globe.

She was also excited to show the cast and crew around the region once filming wrapped up.

“I will look at opportunities to show the cast and crew the wineries and tourist sites,” Ms Chambers said.
