A 19-year-old Brunswick woman was airlifted to a Perth hospital on Saturday morning after the moped she was riding collided with a car.

South West police, paramedics and the RAC helicopter responded to the crash at the intersection of Forrest Highway and Paris Road about 11am near Australind.

Police say the woman was travelling south on the highway before attempting to turn onto Paris Road.

The motorcyclist collided with a 54-year-old man driving north on the highway in a Nissan Pulsar sedan.

Police say the chopper was on the ground for about an hour before stabilising the woman and taking her to Perth.
