A Perth woman has fronted court this morning after being charged for allegedly driving at 100kmh in a 40kmh school zone yesterday afternoon in Bunbury.

Eimmie Margaret Jane Lawson, 24, of Mount Helena, was arrested after police allegedly spotted her speeding about 2.55pm in her Holden Commodore sedan on Parade Road in Withers.

Ms Lawson appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court charged with driving without a licence and providing police with false information, along with the speeding charge.

However, she was not required to enter any plea to the charges.

Police allege there were school children in the area at the time of the incident.

Magistrate Dianne Scaddan adjourned the matter to be heard in Perth’s Magistrates Court on June 18, where Ms Lawson would also appear for several previous charges.

Magistrate Scaddan told Ms Lawson if she pleaded not guilty to the most recent charges, she would have to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court again.

Outside the court, Ms Lawson’s mother said she did not know why her daughter was in Bunbury.
