It was a history making weekend in the South West Football League when the Eaton Boomers and Donnybrook played out the fourth draw of the league season at Glen Huon Reserve today.

Eaton Boomers wingman Blake Piggott booted a goal with minutes left on the clock to leave the Boomers locked 5.3 (33) to 4.9 (33) with the Dons.

The draw was the sixth of the season as well, with the two team’s respective colts sides also finishing level today.

The South West Football League has confirmed it is the first time in its history that six draws have been played out across all three grades and the first time four draws have occurred in the league competition.

According to the league, the record for most draws in a season was a total of five across the three grades in 1981.

Jordan Falco kicked the winning goal for Bunbury who defeated the Collie Eagles by a point at the Collie Recreation Ground today.

Both side’s traded momentum throughout the game, but it was the Bulldogs who would walk away victors after kicking the final three goals of the game to win 9.6 (60) to 9.5 (59).
