It looked as if the two teams would play out the league’s fifth draw of the season, until a brave mark in defence by vice-captain Cody Miller started a play which resulted in Page kicking the winning score to give the home side a 8.15 (63) to 10.2 (62) victory.

Sam Lowrie kicked four goals from the midfield for the Dons in a best-on-ground performance, while Busselton’s Mitchell Lague also kicked four majors.

The Collie Eagles are a chance of claiming the minor premiership after a tight seven-point win over the Eaton Boomers at Glen Huon Reserve.

In a low scoring game, the Eagles continued their great season while putting a dent in the Boomers’ finals aspirations with a 5.5 (35) to 4.4 (28) victory.

Augusta-Margaret River held on to defeat the lowly Carey Park by six points at Kelly Park today.
