Bunbury secured a hard-fought nine point win over Busselton today at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, in what was a fierce contest.

Neither side was able to gain much ascendency throughout the contest, with the Bulldogs winning 6.11 (47) to 5.8 (38).

Bunbury backman Kane Bumann stood tall for the visitors, who were pushed to the limits by a young, fast Busselton outfit seeking their first win of the season.

Donnybrook overcame Carey Park at home to claim a 19.12 (126) to 11.8 (74) victory.

The Dons senior players stood when needed and got the home side across the line.

Todd Gregory kicked four goals for the homeside, while Matt Shaw kicked three in an excellent performance.

In bad news for the Panthers, it looked as if Kieren King suffered a serious knee injury, while Matt Cavendon's return was spoilt by an ankle injury.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault survived a scare at Brunswick Oval, to eventually defeat the Eaton Boomers 10.12 (72) to 7.11 (53).

The home side came from 29 points down in the second quarter, kicking 10 of the last 12 goals overrun the young Boomers outfit.

Kristin Thornton was excellent for the Lions, while Jay Walton continued his hot form, kicking three goals.

South Bunbury had a solid 40 point win over Augusta-Margaret River, defeating the home side 15.6 (96) to 8.8 (56).

While at the Collie Recreation Ground, the Collie Eagles lost a tough contest to the Harvey Bulls, with the visitors winning by 15 points.

The Bulls kicked well into the breeze to win 11.10 (76) to 9.7 (61).
