Bunbury have gone into the bye with confidence, defeating premiership contenders the Harvey Bulls by 25 points at Payne Park today.

The Bulldogs kicked five goals to none in the opening quarter before the weather set in and made it a slog, with Bunbury prevailing 8.6 (54) to 2.11 (29).

Young Bulldog Ash Eades played like it was a dry day for the whole game, kicking two goals and setting up his forwards throughout the match.

Harry Creasey was excellent across half-back, while Travis Gray continued his hot form this season.

At Kelly Park, an inaccurate Collie Eagles defeated Carey Park by 27 points.

Much like the Payne Park match, the Eagles set up the game in the first quarter when it was dry, before holding on to win 5.18 (48) to 3.3 (21).

Paul Rinder kicked three goals for the Eagles, while Glen Wallam kicked two for the Panthers.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault continued their winning streak, defeating Donnybrook by 38 points at Brunswick Oval.

Kristin Thornton put in another great display for the Lions to lead them to a 12.9 (81) to 6.7 (43) win.

Jonathon Sabourne was handy in the midfield, along with Eli Smith who played good wet-weather football.

Meanwhile on Saturday night, Busselton's Jackson Arbon was duly awarded best afield after his side defeated Augusta -Margaret River by 12 points in a low scoring affair, in the Busselton Toyota Cup at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

Teammate Jed Kemp spearheaded the forward line, booting four goals, while Hawk Kane Hadden’s heroics was not enough to boost Augusta-Margaret River as Busselton took charge of the scoreboard from the outset to finally win 8.7 (55) to 5.13 (43).

Meanwhile, earlier in the day South Bunbury claimed their eighth win of the season, defeating the Eaton Boomers by 59 points at Boyanup Oval.

The Tigers were challenged early, but kicked away in the second quarter to claim the 17.12 (114) to 8.7 (55) victory.
