Swimmer on fire for perfect 10
The Bunbury Swimming Club reaffirmed its status as a regional powerhouse with impressive performances at the 2013 Country Championships in early January.
A group of 38 swimmers won 104 medals — 41 gold, 37 silver and 26 bronze and set 168 personal best times at the Challenge Stadium meet.
Leading the way was Jordon Kendall, 15, with 10 gold medals, in the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke, 50m, 100m and 400m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.
Gerred McCracken, 14, won gold medals in 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly, 50m and 100m freestyle and the 50m and 100m backstroke.
He also won three bronze medals.
Lyndon Goldsmith, 17, won five gold medals, two silver and a bronze. Tahlia Jensen, 13, earned four gold medals in her 50m and 100m breaststroke and freestyle events, six silver for the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley and a bronze for 200m breaststroke.
Rori Parsons, 10, took a hattrick of gold in 50m and 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle, while also winning five silver medals.
Liam Wright recorded new personal best times on each occasion he dived in the water.
The 16-year-old won gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, four silver medals and two bronze.
Young gun Liam Williams, 11, swam well to win gold in the 50m and 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly.
He also one a silver medal and a bronze.
Isabel Dubois, 13, took out gold in the 50m and 100m butterfly, two silver and two bronze while 17-year-old Malte Buschbeck, won gold in the 50m backstroke, silver in 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly and bronze in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke.
Steven Bennett, 15, worked hard in his freestyle events to win gold in the 800m, silver in the 100m and bronze in the 50m.
He also won a bronze in the 200m backstroke.
Amity Parsons, 8, won gold in 50m breaststroke and silver in the 50m backstroke, butterfly and freestyle while Taylor Williams, 15, won gold in the 50m breaststroke.
