Telethon auction the centre for a bargain

Telethon festivities are still underway with an online auction running until 10am on Wednesday.

Bunbury Centrepoint shopping centre, the annual fundraiser’s new Bunbury home, is coordinating the auction which will run for almost a week ahead of the October 16 carnival day.

Marketing manager Diana Ashworth said there were about 35 items in the auction and bids for everything would start at $1.

With items including signed West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers football jumpers and vouchers to businesses such as Centrepoint stores and fitness centre F45, Ms Ashworth said there were plenty of opportunities to pick up a bargain.

“There is a huge range of things such as store vouchers, games for kids and items for parents as well,” Ms Ashworth said.

“The auction is a way to get people excited, and starting our fundraising before the actual Telethon day is key to getting more funds in.

“Everything has been donated by local businesses and we have been inundated in the last week, so all the money raised will go directly to Telethon.”

The auction is being run through the shopping centre’s Facebook page and bids, which are in $1 increments, can be made for each item.
