The full list of Anzac Day services in the South West
Anzac Day services across the South West will go ahead largely without COVID restrictions, although some rules will remain in place in line with the State Government’s Level 1 restrictions.
Services in 2020 were cancelled, prompting heartwarming driveway commemorations across Australia, while the Perth and Peel regions were plunged into a three-day lockdown at 12.01am April 24 in 2021.
This year, the State Government’s easing of Level 2 restrictions means Anzac Day services can be attended in person by everyone in WA.
Under the Level 1 restrictions, which came into effect from 12.01am March 31, most Anzac Day gathering sizes will fit somewhere between the two sets of rules for outdoor gathering sizes.
COVID Event Checklists are required for events with more than 500 but less than 1000 attendees. For larger events with more than 1000 attendees, organisers are required to have COVID Event Plans.
The 2sqm rule applies to both of these types of events.
In a bid to alleviate confusion while ensuring the safety of attendees, Bunbury RSL president John Gelmi said the two Bunbury services will remain as ticketed events.
Attendance will be capped at 3000 people for each service. Mr Gelmi asked attendees to follow COVID-safe protocols, even if it is not mandated.
“I advise people to wear masks for their own safety,” he said.
“And please observe the 2m rule as much as is possible.”
