'Third World' water in Australind

South Western Times

The state of water flowing from taps at Australind has residents wondering whether they are in a Third World country.

Drinking glasses, baths and washing machines are being filled with murky brown water that looks more like water from a stagnant river than fresh water from your tap.

The Water Corporation is investigating the cause of a change in water flow which it says stirred up iron and manganese that turned the water brown.

But a solution to the problem cannot come quickly enough for residents who have the brown water flowing freely throughout their homes.

Full report in tomorrow's South western Times.
