Unbeaten South Bunbury can directly advance into the SWFL women’s grand final if they defeat the Harvey Bulls in the second semi-final at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday.

Both teams have played each other only once this season, with the Tigers pipping the Bulls by one-point back in round three.

This match has the makings of a classic, with so many match winners across the ground.

In the middle of the ground, Tigers ruck Kate Fielding could square off against her South West Slammers basketball teammate Courtney Bayliss, who has been in great form for the Bulls.

Gaining control of the corridor is essential for the Bulls, because if they are able to get the ball into the forward line, they have several weapons who could put the Tigers under pressure.

One of those is Doma Fedele, who provides excellent drive across the half forward line, while Dena English and Dana East could also put the Tigers defence on high alert.

However, South Bunbury are unbeaten for a reason, with their cohesive nature in all games setting the bar for rival clubs to follow.

Regardless of Sunday’s result, both sides will be better for the clash and look capable of reaching the grand final.

On Saturday, Bunbury locks horns with Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault in a do-or-die first semi-final at Gloucester Park.

The Bulldogs will be aiming for a fast start from the opening bounce, as they will back their firepower to help them reach next weekend’s preliminary final. Bounce down for both matches is 1.10pm.
