A 12-GOAL run from South Bunbury in the first half at Hands Oval on last night got them across the line by 47 points against the Collie Eagles.

The Eagles kicked the first goal of the game within 40 seconds of the first bounce, before the Tigers went on to kick 12 unanswered goals to lead by a whopping 69 points at half-time.

But injuries forced the Tigers to just have one on the bench in the second half and allowed Collie to get back in the match and put the scoreline to a respectable 16.13 (109) to 9.8 (68).

The Tigers midfielders were once again the beneficiary of the fantastic ruckwork from Chris Andrew, who dominated for four quarters despite appearing to get an eye injury midway through the second quarter.

South Bunbury captain Matt Giacci was influential through the midfield with Damon Bull, while Kyle Hams and Mason Hislop worked well from the backline, repelling the Eagles’ attack and pushing off the half-back line to provide drive.

Late goals to Rodgers and Corey Griggs in the second quarter kept spirits up and the Eagles came out after half-time with a renewed energy and took the game up to the Tigers.
