It’s grand final weekend, but there’s a lot more to do in Bunbury this weekend that JUST football.

1. Grand final day

The biggest day on the South West Football League’s calendar has arrived.

Collie Eagles and South Bunbury will battle at Hands Oval for the chance to lift the league premiership cup and become part of history.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault will be out to finish off unbeaten seasons in the reserves and colts when they meet Eaton and Bunbury in their grand finals.

Sunday’s action will begin with the colts decider at 9.30am ahead of the reserves at 11.45am and league match at 2.20pm.

2. Aussie rock star

Still respected as one of Australia's iconic musicians, Ian Moss will play a rescheduled concert in Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Sunday night.

The five-time ARIA winner and Cold Chisel icon will deliver a special two-hour performance to celebrate the 10th anniversary of hisSix Strings album.

The show will include all the Cold Chisel and Ian Moss classics, performed as only he can.

3. Frenzal Rhomb

Aussie rock veterans Frenzal Rhomb are coming back to Bunbury.

The band’s tour is to mark the release of their greatest hits albumWe Lived Like Kings, We Did Anything We Wanted .

After nearly 25 years on tour, they will be performing an all-request tour.

Bunbury’s Prince of Wales Hotel will host the show on Thursday night.

4. Pirates of Penzance

One of the Bunbury Repertory Club’s two junior shows per year will wrap up this week.

Based on the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, Pirates of Penzance Jr involves pirates, dim-witted young lovers and plenty more.

There will only be two shows this weekend – at 7.30pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday.

Bookings can be made online for the shows at Little Theatre on Pratt Road, Eaton.

5. I Hate Hamlet

Bunbury Musical Comedy Group’s latest production is into its second and final week of shows.

I Hate Hamlet is a Shakespearean-inspired comedy based on a 1991 Broadway production by Paul Rudnick.

It tells the story of a television actor who struggles with the idea of playing the famous character on stage.

The final shows will be held at 8pm on Friday and Saturday plus 2pm Sunday at the New Lyric Theatre on Bourke Street.

6. Forever Diamond

Relive the magic and the magical hits of superstar Neil Diamond in a two-hour concert experience on Friday night.

Come and hear all the great hits such asSweet Caroline, Song Sung Blue, I Am… I Said and many more at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.

Renowned performer Peter Byrne will put on a slick show and has been widely praised for his likeness to the famous New Yorker.

7. Quilting exhibition

A showcase of quilts will open at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries on Friday night.

Members of the Ozquilt Network will exhibit their original and creative work as part of a nationwide tour.

The network is an Australian-based organisation which tours the works of both Australian and overseas art quilters.

It will then be displayed at BRAG until November 6.

8. Vineyard art

Start your Sunday with a road trip for a chance to meet two artisans.

Vineyard 28 will host South West artist Yvonne Chapman, known for her textile art and work with oils and watercolours.

The vineyard’s owner Pippa Nielsen will also demonstrate quilting techniques and display some of her work.

The event will begin at 10am at 270 Bagieau Road, West Harvey.

9. Whistleblower’s story

The story of Edward Snowden, who gained global prominence after leaking thousands of classified documents in 2013, will be shown on the Grand Cinemas Bunbury screen.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as the title character alongside the likes of Nicolas Cage and Scott Eastwood.

Snowden is a former CIA employee whose leaking of documents revealed the extent of spying by the United States government on its citizens and he has been a controversial figure since.

The M-rated biographical drama opens on Thursday.

10. Markets galore

Head to market on Sunday with two choices available in the South West.

Boyanup Memorial Park will be the venue for the Boyanup and Districts Farmers Markets between 8am-12pm. There will be a wide variety of stalls selling fresh produce and goods.

Undercover markets at the Stirling Street Arts Centre in Bunbury between 9am-12pm will also offer arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, sausage sizzle and more.
