Machete-wielding burglars allegedly involved in a violent attempted robbery have been charged by WA police.

At about 6.30pm on Wednesday, May 10 a man knocked on the door of the Bunbury home and, after speaking briefly to the resident, began fighting with him on the verandah.

While they were fighting, two men allegedly armed with machetes attacked the 23-year-old victim and demanded money and property.

The victim ran to his neighbour’s house for help and the three men fled.

Police charged two men from Australind, aged 26 and 33, and a 25-year-old man of no fixed address, with multiple offences including aggravated home burglary.

The 26 and 33-year-old faced Bunbury Magistrates Court earlier this week, and the 25-year-old will appear before the court on Thursday.
