Turf club action heats up

MITCHELL WOODCOCKSouth Western Times

Horses, jockeys, trainers and punters braved the heat today and headed to the Bunbury Turf Club for the annual Forever Young race day.

Bunbury jockey Kyra Yuill begun the day well for the region when she rode three-year-old bay gelding Cone Bay to a win in the $12,500 Bunbury Holden Maiden (1208m).

Champion jockey William Pike also continued his love affair with the Bunbury track, riding strong favourite Danefin to victory in the $12,500 Bank of Queensland Maiden (1410m).

In the $17,500 My Truck Wash Express Handicap (1690m) it was four-year-old bay stallion Warbrook who got the win, as jockey Patrick Carberry rode it from fourth on the straight to a solid win.
