Two arrested after Gull hold-up

South Western Times

Two men have been arrested following an attempted armed robbery at the Gull Service Station in Carey Park in the early hours of Monday morning.

The two men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested yesterday in Bunbury and will appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court, where they will be charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery.

Bunbury officerin charge Det.Sen. Sgt Jon Mundy said it was unlikely the men would get bail because of the seriousness of the charges and they would be remanded in custody.

‘‘Both men were Perth-based but had been staying in Bunbury,’’ he said.

Police believe the second incident of attempted robbery on the same night at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre car park, in which a 39-year-old man was also threatened with a knife, is not linked to these men and police are still looking for the offender.

A maroon Holden Commodore is believed to have been involved and police are urging anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers 1800 333 000.
