Two people have been arrested and police are still hunting a third following a search at a motel in Bunbury’s CBD on Friday morning.

Multiple police vehicles attended the Admiral Motel in Bunbury about 10am and officers began searching one of the guest rooms.

Police officers removed several large plastic evidence bags filled with gold and silver coins from one of the motel rooms, and were seen talking to two people at the scene.

While two people have been taken into custody, police are yet to lay any charges.

The search relates to an alleged aggravated assault just hours earlier at a separate Bunbury address.

Police confirmed officers were investigating the assault that took place at a home in Bunbury at 6.45am.

One person in the home was assaulted, with witnesses reported to have seen three people leaving the scene of the attack.

Police believe the victim and the alleged assailants are known to one another.
