Vibrant colours on show at Spectacular

The vibrant colours of stained glass windows inspired Janine Egan’s painting which will go on show at this weekend’s Dardanup Art Spectacular.

Ms Egan has honed her skills in the Art Partners program, which matches people with disabilities to art mentors, while attending classes at the Red Mill Store Studio Gallery alongside Bunbury artist Judi McGuigan.

Fitting perfectly into the art spectacular’s theme of ‘windows’, Ms Egan is excited to have her work – named Stain Glass Window – put on display for the public.

Ms Egan said, while she lived in a house with many stained glass windows, the main inspiration came from a photo of a 19th Century window she found in a book.

The painting is exhibition-ready after being framed by the Southern Picture Framers as part of the program’s FRAME IT! initiative.

Art Partner Daniel Marinovich, who is mentored by Emma Murphy, will also have an artwork on show this weekend.

Mr Marinovich attends weekly classes at the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries and has created an impressive artwork in the ‘window’ theme by using jarrah and glass.

The Dardanup Art Spectacular is on from this Friday, May 3, to Sunday, March 5 at the Dardanup Hall and includes an art trail through the Ferguson Valley.
