SOUTH WESTERN TIMESSouth Western Times

The South West Academy of Sport is calling on members of the community to help it win a cash prize.

People are asked to visit the Bankwest website, search for easy grants and vote for the not-for-profit organisation to receive the biggest financial boost possible through the program.

A total of 20 groups are in the running for prizes and at the end of the month, the three with the highest number of votes will receive $1000.

The remaining groups will each receive $200.

SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion says the academy will put any money it receives from Bankwest towards the SWAS-Telstra Fun Run Relay, which will take place on Sunday, June 7.

"Any funds raised through the relay will benefit athletes in our programs," she said.

"The academy is all about youth, leadership, participation and excellence, and every dollar helps us to support our local athletes to achieve."

People have until Thursday, April 30 to submit their vote at www.bankwest.com.au .

Established in 2008, SWAS provides talent development opportunities in the South West for young local athletes aspiring to careers in sport.
