Marist batsmen beware.

Beware of a big left-hander burning up the turf from his favourite south end of his home track at Hay Park East.

Chris Waddingham has stamped his mark on the annals of Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association with his storming run and sharp seamers and currently holds the season lead with a frightening 5-19.

The burly veteran, now into his 40s, caught the eye as a Bunbury Catholic College schoolboy and apart from a few seasons absence when in Perth, returned home to resume hostilities with Marist.

Paradoxically Waddingham will be opposing his old club, making the move to coach the Redbacks and not surprisingly in his short stay has already led his side to the BDCA premiership.

However, the Redbacks have struggled this year in spite of a solid-looking list, and the incentive of taking on his old club looms large.

Another club to be warned is Dalyellup Beach, who front up to the all-powerful, undefeated Eaton Beavers.

Ben Lagana leads Dalyellup’s batting but their big guns Tim Cooper, Matt Fink, Corey Fagan and company have yet to fire.

At the Recreation Ground, Colts will host Leschenault in what should be a good contest.
