Which days can you sprinkle?
Sprinklers in the South West can now be turned on twice a week.
The introduction of the twice weekly watering roster yesterday marked a return to the hotter months of the year.
Following the second-driest winter on record, Water Minister Dr Graham Jacobs has urged the community to show restraint when watering.
‘‘I am asking everyone to continue to reflect on their water usage and we should get away to a good start to December consumption with relatively cooler weather forecast for the next few days,’’ Dr Jacobs said.
However, Dr Jacobs praised water users on the once a week watering roster last spring.
‘‘The trend—picked up early in the one-day roster of no real spikes in consumption — clearly continued until the end of spring which is a fantastic effort by the community,’’ he said.
‘‘It clearly demonstrates we all understand the current water situation following the worst run off into our dams ever and that everyone is pitching in to help get through the hot months ahead.’’
South West scheme water users are allowed to water on the following days for house numbers ending in:
0: Monday and Friday
1: Wednesday and Saturday
2: Sunday and Thursday
3. Monday and Friday
4. Tuesday and Saturday
