Bunbury detectives have released pictures that they hope will help catch thieves who ram raided The Good Guys Bunbury store this week.

Detectives believe the latest ram raid in the city is linked to a spate of brazen burglaries across the region.

The store was left with extensive damage after thieves used a stolen four-wheel-drive to smash through the store’s front entrance about 1am Tuesday.

While the four thieves were disturbed by patrolling police in the area, they managed to flee with a quantity of mobile phones.

“The police did engage them however they managed to slip away,” Det. Sen. Const. Rob Travers told the South Western Times.

“We have conducted some inquiries, we haven’t charged anyone in relation to the ram raid yet.”

The vehicle was found abandoned on Ecclestone Street in Carey Park later that morning.

Det. Sen. Const. Travers confirmed detectives were investigating links between several similar incidents across the city in recent months.

“We expect there are potential links, but we are conducting further inquiries to confirm all that,” he said.

Vehicles have been stolen and businesses such as Gravity Etc in Dalyellup, Treendale Shopping Centre and Grand Cinemas Bunbury have been hit in similar burglaries since August last year.

Police are calling for anyone who may have seen a white Nissan Patrol in the Blair Street area around the time of Tuesday’s incident or who may have information about the movements or occupants of the vehicle to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report here.
