Defence protected mobility vehicles from the Irwin Barracks in Perth paid a visit to the Bunbury Army Reserves Depot on Tuesday night.

The two 12-tonne vehicles provided an opportunity for A Company soldiers to train with the vehicles and promote the Bunbury Reserve.

“Every Tuesday night we parade out here and last week we were fortunate enough to have the protected mobility vehicles visit our depot,” Sgt Tony Robertson said.

“We are an experienced, capable and credible component of the Army with a proven track-record of delivering important operational capability when called upon.

“We’ve got a great depot and are calling for more reservists to join up.”

Sgt Robertson said the depot was in regular demand for operational tasks, most recently regional and domestic security operations.

“Life as a part-time soldier is very fulfilling and flexible enough to manage a healthy work-life balance,” he said.

“Our soldiers come from all walks of life and reservists end up being valuable employees in their civilian workplaces because of the extra skills and experience they bring to their employer.

“Joining the Army not only provides an opportunity to help out the nation but the friends you make are for life.”
