Australind’s lifestyle village Edenlife wins top award for seniors living
Edenlife lifestyle village in Australind has taken out the top gong at this year’s Urban Development Institute of WA awards for excellence in seniors living.
The award comes as stage two of the 204 home lifestyle community continues to reach planning and construction milestones.
Estate developer Russell Lester said Kingston Residential Estate included a provision for the development of a seniors community and Eden life struck a balance between affordability and resort-style living.
“To be recognised by the UDIA WA for our first community development is a great recognition of the quality and innovation we strive to achieve,” Mr Lester said.
He said the land lease model continued to be a credible alternative to the ever-increasing challenge of finding affordable housing for older Australians.
“What we have developed is based on many years of experience both in built form and community operations to achieve a blank canvas to help mould and form an amalgam of life experiences into a strong and vibrant community facilitating a level of engagement that suits diversity,” Mr Lester said.
“Already we are seeing some wonderful examples of what community can be.”
