BDCA 2023: Exciting clash awaits at Leschenault Recreation Park on Saturday between Leschenault and Marist

BDCA first grade premiership contenders Leschenault and Marist lock horns on Saturday afternoon at Leschenault Recreation Park. The Green Caps have looked solid so far this season, with victories over Eaton and Hay Park. Despite losing overseas duo Jamie Harrison and Oliver Currill during the off-season, new recruits Daniel Brabham and Rob Turner appear to have slotted in nicely. Marist have also faced a few selection headaches, primarily due to work commitments. However, such is their depth, the Blues are always competitive. Although classy all-rounder Brayden Clarke was unavailable on Saturday against Collie, fellow all-rounder Cory Fitt stood up and broke the game open for his team with the ball. At the Eaton Sports Ground, Eaton entertains Dalyellup, who put the competition on notice following their upset four-run win over Colts on Saturday at Dalyellup College. The key to this game is likely to fall on Eaton’s bowling unit. Bobtails skipper Liam Renton is committed to giving as many teenage bowlers as possible an opportunity to gain first grade experience, such is his development-first focus. With strike bowler Jacob Wintle’s availability still up in the air short-term, the Bobtails will need to ride their luck and disrupt Dalyellup duo Bradman May and Shaun Towers as often as possible. In the remaining game of the round, Colts will be keen to get back into the winners’ circle, when they travel to Hay Park.
