Get ready to put your dancing shoes on and boogie for World Dance Day celebrations at the Bunbury Show on April 13.

People in hundreds of cities all over the world will be dancing through the streets listening to the same one-hour mega mix of music to demonstrate how dance can unite the world.

Milligan project leader Crystal Mather said an event like World Dance Day would be great initiative for Bunbury.

“When Milligan saw the world’s biggest outdoor dance celebration created by The Liberators International, we knew that this event needed to happen in Bunbury,” Ms Mather said.

“This event about uniting people through the joy of dance and our mantra of the show theme which is ‘we’re all in this together’ so it was a really perfect fit.”

Event organiser Lisa O’Neill previously planned the idea of having a silent disco at the show, which has now combined with World Dance Day celebrations.

“It’s great that my thoughts of having a silent disco for all ages at the Bunbury Show has morphed into an event which will get Bunbury on the world stage,” Mrs O’Neill said.

The dance journey will start at the silent disco zone at 12.30pm and weave it’s way through the showground before reaching the main stage at 1pm.

The hour of dancing will be edited and shared around the world.
