Brigades commemorate three years on from Yarloop fires
Fire brigades from across the region gathered in Yarloop last night to commemorate three years since the Waroona-Yarloop bushfires devastated the area.
Volunteer fire brigades from Yarloop, Brunswick, Bunbury, Cookernup, Uduc and Kalamunda made the trip to show their respects by driving through the town.
Yarloop Volunteer Bushfire Brigade member Carol Parkinson helped organise the event and said it was great to be involved.
“We drove around a few streets, past a few young kids and people with cameras, everyone was quite excited,” Mrs Parkinson said.
“I looked in the rear view as we came out onto the highway and looking at the lights and everyone following us it was just amazing.
“It was a lovely thing for the all fire brigades to join in on.”
