A Bunbury meat supplier has brought home the bacon, taking out an award for best retailer of the year at the weekend.

Ryan’s Quality Meats has become the first company ever to take out the inaugural Australian Meat Industry Council’s retailer of the year award for their store in Jandakot.

The Bunbury producer, which sells its products in Bunbury and Jandakot, won the award among other meat retail outlets across the State.

Managing director and second generation business owner, Greg Ryan, said the award recognised his hard-working staff in both Jandakot and Bunbury.

“The award recognises all of our staff’s efforts in regards to their hard work, making sure the product we give them is displayed in a good manner and sold well,” Mr Ryan said.

“We’re very happy with the way the beef in the last few years has been recognised in the industry and now we have got recognition for our efforts.

“It’s easy to be excellent, but it’s hard to maintain excellence, is the motto I live by.”

Mr Ryan has owned the meat supply business since he bought the business from his parents and said everything was produced in Bunbury from WA farmers.

“We’re really proud of the fact that we support WA producers,” he said. “We want to give people the best possible eating experience and a quality product.”
