The South West Sports Centre will be filled to the brim with Bulls and Tornadoes basketball club diehards on Friday night as men’s competition derbies take centre stage during round six of the Bunbury Senior Basketball League.

Bulls Maroon, who are unbeaten so far this season, will need to be alert during their clash against the club’s Gold team.

For hoops fans who love potent offences, this game is likely to deliver in spades.

Irrespective of who may be unavailable, Maroon have an extremely potent team, with multiple players — including Cody Hill, Brayden Jones and Travis Durnin — capable of making a stack of big plays.

Bulls Gold, who have lost only once, are a far younger team, however they work extremely hard at both ends of the floor and make smart decisions while in possession.

Aside from Pharell Keats having a fantastic year, Gold have benefited greatly from Tyson Lane and Grayden Read.

Given the fact Maroon’s bigger bodies could cause them issues in driving to the basket, Keats and company will need to master other avenues to score.

It will be a case of South West Slammers men’s coach v South West Slammers board chair in the all-Tornadoes affair, with Shane Goff (Black) and Sean Tilbrook (Red) overseeing play-calling duries for their respective teams.

In the women’s competition, Tornadoes Black will be out to record their first win of the season from five attempts, when they do battle with Aces Navy.
