Two teams will progress to the grand final and the season will end for two others in the Bunbury Senior Basketball League’s preliminary finals at the South West Sports Centre on Friday night.

Tornadoes Red will take on Aces Navy in the women’s game, while Bulls Gold come up against Conquerors in the men’s fixture.

In the women’s clash, both teams will come in with confidence. Tornadoes Red put on a credible performance in their 16-point qualifying final loss to Tornadoes Black, with Aces Navy sailing through the elimination final with a 40-point win over Aces Sky.

Aces Navy will need to ensure they close out hard on Tornadoes Red’s Jasmine Barrett, who sits second on the competition’s three-point charts with 41 makes for the season, including four last Friday, while Hannah Chatfield — fresh off a 30-point performance for Aces Navy — will look to dominate the interior.

The men’s match will see two of the league’s leading guards in Bulls Gold’s Pharell Keats and Conquerors’ Jordan Yarran face off.

Keats is coming off a standout performance in the qualifying final, dropping 36 points despite his side’s 41-point loss, while Yarran is averaging 16.5 points per game this season.

Bulls Maroon and Tornadoes Black will await the winners of the men’s and women’s games respectively.

Both games tip off at 7.30pm.
