Bunbury swimmers head east to take on the best
A team of 11 athletes from Bunbury Swimming Club have been chosen to represent the School Sports State Team at the School Sport Australian Swimming Championships in Hobart, Tasmania this month.
Kyle Lee, 16, Rori Parsons, 16, Daniel Coleman, 16, Max Coulter, 15, Alice Johnson, 15, Sam Ellis, 14, Georgia Saffy 14, Amity Parsons, 13, Alex Saffy, 12, Joel Davies, 12, and Drew Coleman, 10, flew interstate on Monday, before the start of the competition on Sunday.
Coach Toni Moore said the club had the most representatives of any club in WA.
“We have kids selected from 10 years of age all the way up to 16,” she said.
“It is a really exciting time for them.
“Some of these kids do not get to travel interstate until they are a little older, so it is even more exciting for the young ones.
“They all have the potential (to go to the next level), so we will just have to see if they have the will and the heart.
“If they do, then they will definitely make it.”
