Bunbury’s Outer Harbour tanks removal begins

Major work to remove the old mineral sands tanks from Bunbury’s Outer Harbour were well under way yesterday.

The tanks are slowly being dismantled with leases over the harbour area coming to an end in December.

Iluka – which owns the tanks – could not confirm how long the project would take.

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said the demolition of the tanks would help transform the area from an industrial site to an urban location.
