CINEFESTOZ today unveiled its 2018 program, with Bunbury scheduled to host 16 diverse events across six local venues.

The festival is an immersive film and destination experience where audiences are invited to explore a diverse program of quality film between August 22 and 26.

Venues and spaces spread across the South West region will host audiences and VIP guests alike, offering something for everyone with more than 150 screening and event options.

This year’s event boasts a total of 117 film screenings, with 11 world and 18 Australian Premieres and will showcase incredible home-grown cinematic tales which have been brought to life over the past 12 months.

A blend of documentaries, feature films and short films will encourage audiences to ditch the downloads and come together to share a unique viewing experience.

Now in its 11th year, CinefestOZ has cemented its reputation as one the nation’s most prestigious film festivals, offering Australia’s richest film prize of $100,000.

To celebrate the opening night in Bunbury on August 22, Grand Cinemas will feature Australian documentary film Backtrack Boys, where guests will rub shoulders with filmmakers and stars during pre-screening welcome drinks.

Following the screening, the celebrations will continue at Maker + Co for a filmmaker Q&A and a bite to eat.

Free community screenings will be held at the Bunbury Museum, featuring films such as Babe, Kenny, The Castle and The Man From Snowy River.

Bunbury will also include screening of film prize finalists 1% and The Merger and side bar events at St Aidan’s Wines, Caf-fez, and the Rose Hotel.

Bunbury will also host two film premiere screenings In Like Flynn, at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre’s Cube theatre and IndigifestOZ event Finke: There and Back at Grand Cinemas.
