A cash prize and title of “Bunbury’s best Christmas lights” is on offer this festive season.

The City of Bunbury have announced its inaugural Christmas lights competition for the community, on the hunt for the best-lit property this festive season.

In partnership with Elders Real Estate’s Ben Colman, a $1000 cash prize will be awarded to the houses deemed to have the best Christmas lights in town.

Participants are encouraged to get creative, as judging will be based on first impression, use of design, colour, sound, community engagement and sustainability.

The list of entrants will be published on council’s social media channels and website.

Registrations are open until November 25, though residents will have until judging day on December 2 to get their decorations up.

More information can be found on the City of Bunbury website, with the winner to be announced on December 8 at Christmas in the City.
