Connor Wright takes home win at Australian Junior Road Cycling National Titles in South Australia
South West cyclist Connor Wright has added another national win to his record, this time at the Australian Junior Road Cycling National Titles.
The cycling powerhouse joined the WA team in Loxton, South Australia in September for three days of challenging racing against the best young riders in the country.
With a fifth-place finish in the time trial and seventh in the road race in the days prior, Wright was motivated to come away from his nationals campaign with a victory on the final day.
He used the technical and demanding criterium circuit to his advantage and with 10 minutes remaining in the race, launched an attack his rivals could not match.
Wright’s win was a testament to his hard work as an individual and to his fellow WA teammates.
“It was a really cool experience working with the WA team,” he said.
“It’s something I am not used to but myself and the team worked really well together, and it showed in the results.”
Wright now looks to continue his winning form with the Cape to Cape MTB, before jumping back on the road bike at the Tour of Margaret River stage race in November.
