Cupid swoops in with diamond ring prize
Valentine’s Day was extra sweet for Faye Justins, who took home a sparkling 1.04 carat diamond and 18 carat gold ring from Cash Converters thanks to Spirit Radio South West 621AM’s “Dillo the Cupid” competition.
Listeners entering the competition also had the chance to have their partner visited by Ashley Dillon dressed as cupid, armed with a bouquet of flowers and a love dedication.
Mrs Justins, of Collie, had missed the on-air announcement as she was tending to fencing on her property, but soon received a barrage of calls of congratulating her for winning the $7000 ring.
“Poor old Dillo was trying to ring me and I was out fencing and a friend of ours had tried to ring but my phone was in the house,” she said.
“There were about four or five missed calls on the phone so I rang the first person and they said ‘you’ve won a diamond ring on the radio’. I said ‘what? I better ring them’.”
Mrs Justins said the win was exciting, especially as the only thing she had ever won was a “chook raffle”.
Mrs Justins, who is married to Wayne, entered the competition with the dedication “my darling Wayne I have loved you for 30 years and I will love you for 30 more”.
“Thank you so much to Spirit Radio and Cash Converters it is absolutely marvellous.”
