Premier Australian film festival CinefestOZ will bring glitz and glamour to Bunbury next month, with the full program of events set to be announced tomorrow.

To celebrate the opening night in Bunbury on August 22, Grand Cinemas will feature Australian documentary film Backtrack Boys, where guests will rub shoulders with filmmakers and stars during pre-screening welcome drinks.

Following the screening, the celebrations will continue at Maker + Co for a filmmaker Q&A and a bite to eat.

CinefestOZ Bunbury events coordinator Jo O’Dea said audiences could expect a diverse range of films and events this year.

“It’s really nice to open with a documentary which is really rare, but it’s a really beautiful Australian documentary I think a lot of people will relate to and appreciate,” she said.

“We also have a film at St Aidan’s this year, which is a French film based around a vineyard... and our community screenings this year are in the Bunbury museum which is a beautiful new venue.

“Film is a perfect way to wile away a winter’s day so there is plenty on offer and we really encourage people to log online, grab your tickets and enjoy an experience which is beyond just a film.”

Early bird tickets are available at cinefestoz.com.
