The Donnybrook St John Ambulance sub-centre was named Volunteer Sub Centre of the Year at the WA St John awards in Perth last week.

The sub-centre was recognised for its service to community as well as the broader South West region for its Saving Lives campaign.

The campaign provided CPR training to more than 1000 people and saw 26 defibrillator units installed around Donnybrook with another five to be installed in the near future.

Donnybrook sub-centre chairman Ian Telfer said the award was recognition their amazing volunteers.

“I am very proud of every volunteer involved in assisting in delivering our services,” he said.

“This award is for them and for our community.”
