Drugs found inside prison
A full scale search of Bunbury Regional prison is being carried out following a major discovery of illicit drugs and paraphernalia on Saturday.
Bunbury Regional Prison staff discovered a crystalline substance, leaf material and an unknown fluid, as well as syringes and needles in two locations at a workshop, hidden inside a metal pipe and metal tubing.
A three-day operation has uncovered further contraband, believed to be illicit drugs.
Corrective Services Commissioner Tony Hassall will speak at the prison today where the search continues.
More to come in tomorrow’s South Western Times.
