Major crash officers are still investigating a serious crash involving eight males in a sedan in Collie on August 3.

A group of eight young men were driving a purple Volvo 960 sedan in bushland off Collie-Williams Road.

About 9.30am the 17-year-old male driver failed to negotiate a left hand bend, subsequently losing control of the car and hitting a tree.

The driver and three occupants received minor injuries and were treated at Collie hospital.

A 17-year-old male who was in the back of the vehicle received serious spinal injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.

The sedan had no number plates and had been towed to the area the day before the crash.

Anyone who might have seen the purple Volvo prior to the crash, or have dash-cam vision of the area on the day is urged to contact police.
