Former West Coast boss Trevor Nisbett named as South Bunbury Football Club’s number one ticket holder

One of South Bunbury Football Club’s favourite sons has been honoured as the club’s number one ticket holder. Former long-time West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett was announced the recipient of the title at the club’s season launch on Saturday. Born and raised in Bunbury, Nisbett represented the third generation of his family to play for the Tigers, with his grandfather Len — a 1920 premiership player — and father Ted both pulling on the red and white jumper. After heading to Perth and playing for East Perth in the WAFL, he worked as the football manager for both the Royals and Subiaco before taking on the same role at the Eagles in 1989. Nisbett oversaw the 1992 and 1994 premierships before being appointed to West Coast’s top job in 1999, with the club tasting the ultimate success again in 2006 and 2018. He stepped down earlier this year after nearly 25 years in the role. South Bunbury general manager Andrew Roberts said Nisbett would be a valuable sounding board for the club. “Trevor’s always keen to help football at any level, he’s always been like that,” he said. “We can lean on Trevor for a lot of information, a lot of contacts. “With the redevelopment of Hands Oval happening for the South West Football League, we’d like to look at extensions for our club in the future as well. It’s good to have Trevor on side advising us on things along the way that might be able to help us.”
