Bunbury’s annual signature race meeting was held in Ascot for the second consecutive year due to the Bunbury Turf Club’s track redevelopment project.

Despite a strong desire for participants and punters to return down south as quickly as possible, the Furphy Bunbury Cup, Tabtouch Bunbury Stakes — along with the William Barrett and Sons Vase — were run in their usual spirit.

Blazing Away, trained by David Harrison, claimed the Bunbury Cup, while pre-race fancy Burnya To Survive (ridden by Myalup’s Lucy Warwick) took out the Bunbury Stakes.

Justin Fris was on hand to snap all of the action trackside.
