Glen Huon Primary School early intervention centre on track
The early intervention centre under construction at Eaton’s Glen Huon Primary School is on track to be completed by April.
Premier Mark McGowan visited the school on Friday to inspect the works along with Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray.
He said the centre would be an important asset for the community and the school.
“These facilities will provide essential services to the wider Eaton community and help give our children the best possible start to their education,” he said.
“We are continuing to invest in regional education, with the Glen Huon Early Intervention Centre being one of many key projects in regional WA.”
The $1.5 million centre will provide occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language specialist services.
It will also be a place to host a variety of meetings and workshops to educate parents, staff and the wider community about early intervention programs.
Families from Eaton, River Valley and Clifton Park primary schools as well as Glen Huon will have access to the centre.
Mr Murray said the centre would be a strong addition to a school already focused on early intervention.
“Early intervention centres like these are vital in our children’s learning journey and will provide an added level of support for students and their families,” he said.
“I look forward to seeing the complete product and welcoming all the families to the centre later this year.
“It’s wonderful for us to have an early intervention centre that’s inclusive and helps families from across the area.”
