Grant goes to improve women’s refuge
A Bunbury organisation that helps women and children escaping family violence will receive a financial boost.
The South West Refuge is set to receive $10,000 for new beds, mattresses and bedding through the State Government’s Local Projects Local Jobs fund.
The organisation accommodated 109 women and 121 children in its refuge and transitional units during 2016-17 financial year.
A further 98 women and their children were supported through the refuge’s Safe at Home service.
Bunbury MLA Don Punch said the money would help the refuge become even more welcoming for women and children.
