Headline act between heavyweights
An intriguing Bunbury Basketball Association battle looms tomorrow night at the South West Sports Centre between men’s powerhouses Tornadoes Black and the Bulls.
Although they sit on top of the table, Tornadoes Black have not had things entirely on their terms, especially prior to the festive season break, when they were pipped 78-75 by Tornadoes Red.
And given how the Bulls have dominated them in a number of big men’s A Grade games over the past few years, you can be sure motivation will not be lacking in the Tornadoes Black camp.
The outcome of this game is likely to be decided by those who are available to suit up on the floor.
Despite having ample talent at their disposals, Bulls have struggled at times to get all of their guns out on the court at the same time.
When the likes of Travis Durnin, Clive Weeden and Dyllan Catalano are making plays, the Bulls offence can be almost impossible to tame.
However Tornadoes Black appear hardened from their recent finals campaigns and will likely go into the clash as favourites.
Tomorrow night is also an important game for Aces White, who know a win over the Dunsborough Oilers in Busselton could work wonders in kickstarting their season, which is stuck at 4-6 right now.
Fixtures (tomorrow night at South West Sports Centre, unless indicated)
A-Men: 6.30pm Bulls v Tornadoes Red, Dunsborough Oilers v Aces White (Geographe Leisure Centre); 8pm Aces Sky v Tornadoes Red; A-Women: 6.30pm Aces Sky v Tornadoes Red, Dunsborough Oilers v Eaton Eagles (Geographe Leisure Centre); 8pm Bulls v Tornadoes Black.
