Historic former Bunbury Post Office for sale
A unique piece of Bunbury’s history is on the market and gaining plenty of attention, according to the selling agent.
The former Bunbury Post Office at Stephen Street in the CBD will go to auction on June 3.
One of the city’s oldest buildings, the former post office and bonded store was built in 1864 and is on the State Register of Heritage Places.
Summit Realty South West principal Greg Gardiner said he was confident the iconic building would attract a crowd come auction day and the potential of the ideally-located property was endless.
“In my 25 years of selling real estate, this is one of the most unique properties,” Mr Gardiner said.
He said there had already been interest from lawyers, a builder and local developers.
“It’s still early days, but I expect a good result at auction,” he said.
He said the CBD zoning of the site was broad and “opens it up” for many uses.
The building has three office spaces, a kitchenette and two toilet rooms.
