Isaiah brings X-Factor

Isaiah Firebrace, the winner of X-Factor Australia 2016 and 2017 Eurovision Song Contest competitor is coming to Bunbury.

Set to take to the stage at BREC next Thursday, the visit will form part of his national Live and Beyond tour.

“I always felt in my heart that I knew what I wanted to do in life and that was make music,” Isaiah said.

“It was a challenge coming from a small country town and living so far from the city and I knew pursuing my passion meant sacrifice.”

Backed by a four-piece band, the talented teen performs a mix of his original material and all his favourite chart toppers, with the concert scheduled to run for two hours.

On Wednesday, Isaiah will present a free, hour-long talk on the development and highlights of his career as well as his own personal struggles.

“I am really grateful to Isaiah and to our Indigenous Audience Development Partner ALCOA for enabling BREC to provide these opportunities local young people to ask questions and have a taste of life as an internationally successful contemporary musician,” BREC director Fiona de Garis said.

“The South West is full of emerging musicians and I am confident Isaiah is an artist and role model who will offer them great inspiration to pursue their own dreams.”

Before the concert on Thursday, BREC will also host the Community Spirit Workshop, a free workshop for community members to join in the performer’s rehearsals, focusing on his new single, Spirit.

After the workshop, the participants will be invited to join Isaiah on stage at the concern and help him perform the song.
