Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found overnight in Bunbury’s CBD.

At about 2.15am a man in his 30s was found dead at the Bunbury Bus Station.

South West District Superintendent Geoff Stewart said police were called, attended and found a person at the scene that had died.

“We are making inquiries now into the circumstances involving the death,” he said.

“He’s (victim) in his 30s, which would tend to indicate we tend to know who that person may be.

“We’re not going provide any further detail until we know exactly that the families that are involved have been advised.”

A man in his 20s is helping police with their inquiries.

Supt Stewart said the Homicide Squad were in attendance, trying to gather as much information as possible.

“We have other resources, predominantly the Homicide Squad from State Crime down here assisting the South West District in investigating the matter,” he said.

“We are seeking any witnesses at all that were in the area, particularly people with dash cam, if they could contact police with that information.”

Supt Stewart said there was nothing to indicate there was a concern to any other people or the community at present.

“Certainly it is a concern when anyone dies in your community, particularly in circumstances that may involve unnatural causes,” he said.

“That’s part of the investigation at the moment, we are in the early phases of that and whatever the circumstances are including the individuals involved will become more apparent as the day goes on.”
