New Capel shire president
Cr Michael Southwell has been voted in unopposed as the new president of the Shire of Capel.
Cr Southwell thanked former president Cr Murray Scott for his many years of service and said he was planning to bring the people of Capel with the council into the future.
Newly-elected councillor Kaara Andrew was voted in as deputy president and will serve a four year term alongside other newcomers Kieran Noonan, Rosina Mogg, Dave Clews and the re-elected Sebastian Schiano.
"The four new councillors elected made it clear during the campaign they were agents for change," Cr Southwell said.
"I've made it pretty clear in my communications on Facebook etc that I wanted to see some change, so now we're all together, tonight you've seen the first big change."
